If you can’t make it to the Hive in this charming weather, don’t forget if you can return your books to any Worcestershire County Council Library, or you can renew them either online or by contacting the Hub on 01905 822722. To renew online log in to the student homepage and click on Library Catalogue.

Our e-resources are up and running and accessible whatever the weather. Find the information you need at http://libguides.worc.ac.uk. While your there, be sure to check out our new TV and radio service, Box of Broadcasts. Watch or listen to TV and radio from 2000, with all BBC content from 2007. ‘Singing in the Rain‘ is on there, I’ve checked. Or how about this BBC documentary all about terrible weather. Personally, I recommend this episode of Thomas the Tank Engine: ‘Splish, Splash, Splosh‘.

Stay safe.

Just in time for Christmas a gift from the British Library. LOADS of images. The BL say:

“We have released over a million images onto Flickr Commons for anyone to use, remix and repurpose. These images were taken from the pages of 17th, 18th and 19th century books digitised by Microsoft who then generously gifted the scanned images to us, allowing us to release them back into the Public Domain. The images themselves cover a startling mix of subjects: There are maps, geological diagrams, beautiful illustrations, comical satire, illuminated and decorative letters, colourful illustrations, landscapes, wall-paintings and so much more that even we are not aware of.”

helping handThere’s a new LibGuide tailored specifically for final year students. It provides information about all the resources specifically for you and goes through how to access books, articles and other academic sources. It explains how to get hold of materials not held in the University’s library collections and gives top tips to help you out in your final year. You may also be ready for some support with independent research, and writing up your research project. The link below to the LibGuide is a good place to start… http://libguides.worc.ac.uk/finalyear
