National Short Story Week November 22, 2010

Posted by Alison Taylor in All categories.

Ah the short story. Great for anyone with a tiny attention span…

Sorry, what was I saying???

Ahem. It’s National Short Story Week, so to join in the fun why not check out some of the great short story collections we have in the library. What have you got to lose? You read one, you don’t like it, you bring it back and try another author. They’re only short!

It’s all a matter of personal taste but my favourites include:

Anton Chekhov, Short Stories (in the library, shelfmark 891.73 CHE)
Oscar Wilde, The Happy Prince (you know, the one with the selfish giant where it’s always winter in one corner of the garden. School Resource Area, 398.2 WIL)

Check out the catalogue for more. Search for ‘short stories’.

Or if you think you could do better take a look at Writing Short Stories by Tom Bailey (808.31 BAI). And then may be one day we’ll stock your book in the library 🙂
