The John Read Collection

An exciting new collection of books on all aspects of cricket has been deposited with the University of Worcester Research Collections. Of particular note are copies of the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack and biographies of noted players.

The books formed part of a collection belonging to Mr John E. Read, a lifelong supporter of Worcestershire County Cricket Club and have been donated by his nephew Mr Clive Read, a member of the University Development Committee who has been active in raising support for the new Worcester Arena.

These resources will support research into cricket and related areas.

All items are held in Bredon 27 and are available for use by staff, students or any other interested people.
