Now this is nice. Apparently of the 200,000 paintings owned by British taxpayers, most are in storage, or on walls few see.The BBC are throwing open the vaults and have digitised 63,000 of these for you to feast your eyes on as part of the Your Paintings project. There’s Francis Bacon, there’s William Blake and several thousand other artists to enjoy.

As well as the art itself several notable people from the art world, and comedian Frank Skinner (?!),  give guided tours to their personal highlights from the collection. Lovely stuff.
