There are over 250,000 books in The Hive! How do you find what you want? October 10, 2012

If you’re in The Hive you may spot some ‘Catalogue Search’ machines, these are great for finding resources in The Hive and across Worcestershire libraries – but they won’t search for all of the eresources that you also have access to.

To search across all ILS resources you need to login through the student portal, go to ‘Library Catalogue’ and search from here.

Once at the catalogue there are two ways to search for the resources you want:

  1. The Library Catalogue. This provides access to print books and journals in The Hive & across Worcestershire. You can narrow your search to just look at what’s in The Hive and you’ll also be able to access e-books from the library catalogue where they are available.
  2. Summon. This is essentially google for library resources; you can use it to search across 97% of the University’s text and e-resources. This is often the easiest way to start your search. Our online tutorial will help you get started using Summon.

Staff are always around to help if you’re in The Hive, and if you’re at home and need a hand just email askalibrarian@worc.ac.uk.
